NICK P. CALAMOS, CFA Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Investments/CIO As Head of Investments, Mr. Calamos oversees research and portfolio management for Calamos Investments family of mutual funds, closed-end funds and separately managed accounts, totaling more than $41 billion in assets as of June 30, 2008. Leading the development of the firm’s proprietary research tools and investment processes for a team of more than 50 professionals, Mr. Calamos serves as a portfolio manager of various strategies utilizing equities, high yield bonds, convertible securities and alternative investments. Many of the firm’s mutual funds have received accolades throughout his portfolio management tenure including 30 Lipper Performance Achievement Certificates for a number of strategies including No. 1 designation for 10 year performance for the Calamos Convertible, Calamos Growth, Calamos Growth & Income and Calamos Market Neutral Income Funds. The Calamos Growth Fund was recognized as the #1 Fund in the Forbes Honor Roll for three years in a row in 2005; the Calamos Growth and Income Fund earned the Standard & Poor’s/BusinessWeek Excellence in Fund Management Award in both 2003 and 2004. He joined the firm in 1983. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Mr. Calamos received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Southern Illinois University and an MS in Finance from Northern Illinois University. His book, Convertible Arbitrage: Insights and Techniques for Successful Hedging, was released in July 2003 and is used as a textbook in a number of investment management curriculums. He is often quoted in the press, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Fortune, BusinessWeek and Pensions & Investments. He also regularly appears on CNBC, Kudlow & Company and Bloomberg TV. Mr. Calamos is active in a number of professional and civic organizations including Vistage, a CEO peer group, and the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago, the CFA Institute. He has endowed scholarship programs at Northern Illinois University.
John P. Calamos, Sr.  (2005-03-16)
John P. Calamos is the founder of CALAMOS ASSET MANAGEMENT, INC., the 16th largest money manager in Chicagoland. The firm offers institutional and individual investors a breadth of strategies through both individually managed portfolios and mutual funds. Mr. Calamos’ investment career spans 30 years. Mr. Calamos received his undergraduate degree in Economics and MBA in Finance from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Joining the United States Air Force after graduation, he served as a combat pilot during the Vietnam War and ultimately earned the rank of Major. Following his military service, John devoted his entire professional career to investment management and research, establishing his own firm in 1977. Mr. Calamos is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago and has taught graduate level courses on finance and investments. Mr. Calamos has written two books: Investing in Convertible Securities: Your Complete Guide to the Risks and Rewards, and Convertible Securities: the Latest Instruments, Portfolio Strategies, and Valuation Analysis, along with numerous articles in various financial journals. He is often quoted in the press, including The Wall Street Journal, Investor’s Business Daily, Barron’s, Fortune, BusinessWeek and Pensions & Investments. He has appeared on CNBC, CNNfn, Louis Rukeyser's Wall Street and Nightly Business Report.

Calamos is executive vice president, senior strategy/research analyst for Calamos. He is an assistant portfolio manager responsible for equity analysis using Calamos’quantitative models. He monitors the universe of equity opportunities using quantitative models and also assists in managing accounts that use convertible hedging techniques. His experience includes the use of listed options, short sales and leverage with convertible securities.

JOHN HILLENBRAND, CPA Sr. Vice President, Sector/Strategy Analyst Mr. Hillenbrand is a senior member of the investment team with portfolio management and research responsibilities. He is directly involved in the fundamental analysis of companies, while investigating investment opportunities consistent with the firm’s long-term philosophy and process. In line with Calamos’ integrated investment team structure, John works within a senior team of professionals and is an asset class generalist with sector responsibilities across all of Calamos’ strategies. Mr. Hillenbrand, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), graduated from Loyola University with a BBA in Public Accounting and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago in Analytic Finance. Prior to joining Calamos in 2002, he served as an equity research analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston and ABN AMRO.

JON VACKO, CFA Sr. Vice President, Sector/Strategy Analyst Mr. Vacko is a senior member of the investment team with portfolio management and research responsibilities.
